At Last

It is a whole month since my last post this despite a New Year's Resolution to do a weekly post. The reason for breaking my resolution so quickly is I hope entirely excusable. I caught a horrid cold from the family. I tried to minimize its effects by staying in bed and all the usual things. To no avail. Not only did it get worse but I ended up with a horrid chest infection that required serious medication. I was house bound and actually felt lousy. Only this past week have I felt better. My loss of appetite and incapacity put a speedy end to all activities and resolutions. I am now slowly building up my fitness and resuming a normal life if there is such a thing. Hence this new post.


Today is really really cold so I don't feel much inclined to take the dog out unlike the past few days when the weather has been fresh but sunny. Ideal walking conditions. In the morning as I walk down the lane and out into the fields it has been just glorious. A wonderful start to the day and makes me feel good despite how ever I feel on waking and leaving the house.

An additional problem I have had walking Pearl this past week is that she is in season so I have to be very careful which dogs we meet. I have to pick the the time and place when we are least likely to meet other dogs. Tricky. Not long now before her season finishes and we can walk wherever we fancy.

So now a new New Year's Resolution. I have lots planned over the next few weeks so hopefully I will be able to keep to it this time.
